At 9 3/4” (25cm) tall, this is the largest Bencharong toh jar of this type that we know of.
Beautiful Buddhist and floral decoration, including rare “boneless” style painted lotus flowers. A masterpiece of 19th century Bencharong porcelain.
Lid has an old chip in handle, some chipping to inside inner lip, and a small hairline coming off the edge. Jar itself is in very good condition with no hairlines, one old frit inside top rim right at the edge of the copper. Both pieces have surface wear to enamels.
